An Aliso Viejo resident, 62, has been arrested and is being held on $100,000 bail on charges of sexual assault and elder abuse. OC Weekly reported that the suspect’s 69-year-old female client told law enforcement that she was being sexually abused, and the suspect admitted to the abuse. Orange County prison records show that the suspect had a court appearance scheduled for Thursday.

Authorities in Orange County on Wednesday were asking for help identifying possible additional victims of a caregiver arrested for alleged elder abuse and sexual battery. A 66-year-old woman reported that the suspect had been sexually abusing her for the past six months, according to a department news release.

On Tuesday, an arrest warrant was issued for a 51-year-old suspect, for aggravated abuse of a vulnerable adult, a second-degree felony. Wednesday, he was arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail. The suspect’s wife, 55, is bedridden and suffers from multiple sclerosis. When she was discovered by authorities, she was suffering from sepsis, or severe infection, had open sores, and had feces on her, according to charging documents.

    • The Land O’ Lakes Foundation is currently accepting applications for the 2013 Community Grants program for projects that focus on hunger, youths and education, civic improvements, and arts and culture in rural communities. Typically, the foundation funds national programs and programs in the following twenty states: Arkansas, California, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin. Grants are restricted to organizations that have been granted tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. This year’s application deadlines are April 1 for education proposals; July 1 for hunger/food related proposals; and October 1 for all other proposals.

    • The Lawrence Foundation awards grants in support of the environment, education, human services, disaster relief, and other causes.
