In an on-going battle over Michael Jackson's will, the estate of the late King of Pop fires back at Randy and Jermaine Jackson. The estate tells TMZ that the two brothers plot a scheme to get their hands on MJ's money by allegedly trying to make an impression that their mother Katherine needs a conservator for her finances. The conservator of Katherine Jackson would gain access to her fund, which is more than $70,000 per month.

Forty percent of elderly, low-income Hispanics claimed issues of neglect or abuse during 2011, says a study from the University of Southern California (USC) Davis School of Gerontology. Of that 40 percent, only 1.5 percent reported the abuse incidents to authorities.

According to a new study, by researchers from the University of Southern California Davis School of Gerontology, elder abuse among low-income Latinos is higher than previously thought. More than 40 percent of Latino elders told Spanish-speaking interviewers that they had been abused or neglected in the last year — yet only 1.5 percent of victims said they had ever reported the abuse to authorities.

A JP Morgan Chase Bank manager and her husband were convicted today of scamming a 97-year-old man out of more than $1 million in life savings, the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office reports. Prosecutors say the bank manager befriended the victim and pretended to manage his finances. Instead, she and her unemployed husband spent the money on luxury cars and liposuction. The victim has since passed away.

A senior caretaker arrested Wednesday night on charges of elder abuse was also charged Thursday in the animal cruelty case of Bo the dog, found badly slashed last month in a Northside neighborhood. The suspect had also been charged with aggravated elder abuse and battery of a person older than 65.

A 38-year-old man allegedly obtained a power of attorney and converted more than $13,000 from the account of the elderly victim for his own use without the victim’s knowledge or consent between February and April. The man has been arrested and charged with felony counts of elder abuse end theft by conversion.
