Berkeley mother, daughter charged with physical and financial abuse of elderly relative
A Berkeley mother and daughter are facing two felony counts in Alameda County. Over the course of three years, they stole from a nearly 80-year-old relative to pay their bills, and almost killed the woman by failing to keep up with her health needs.

Two men broke into the home of an 86-year-old woman on Stage Gulch Road in Petaluma in May. The suspects shattered a window to get into the home where they stole money, credit cards, keys, a purse and the female victim's cell phone.

Nurse at Syracuse nursing home accused of physically abusing 92-year-old woman
A nurse manager at the Loretto Health and Rehabilitation Center in Syracuse has been accused of physically abusing a resident of the nursing home and falsifying records to cover it up. Harris grabbed the woman by the upper arms, lifted her from the bed and forced her into a wheelchair, causing substantial bruising on the resident's upper arms.

• The Conference on Forensic Nursing for Adult Protective Services (APS) Nurses will be occurring November 13-14, 2014 from 9am-4pm in San Diego, California.
